Income/Expenses – October 2013

From my recurring income series: Our income and expense numbers for October:

Gross Income:  $11830  – Both had 2 paychecks plus $250 rent from our short term room mate

Government Cut:  $2660

Net income:  $9170

Expenses:  $3075

Home $1,120
Shopping $100
Food & Dining $830
Taxes $330
Bills & Utilities $220
Auto & Transport $240
Entertainment $75
Gifts & Donations $100
Health & Fitness $60
OTHER $0

That means we saved $6090, including about $530 in 401k matching from the employers, which was a net savings rate of 72%.  Pretty good if you ask me, chugging towards early retirement 😉  I’ll repeat myself, that is an insane amount on food.  About $200 of that was gift cards for food we haven’t actually eaten yet, $320 for groceries, $25 for meals at work, and $320 for various eating out at restaurants and Chipotle  ($100 🙂 ).
